Empowering At-Risk Youth Through Microlearning

This initiative is deeply meaningful, designed to equip at-risk teens in foster care with essential life skills through engaging e-learning modules. Originally developed for Lifebridge’s youth program, the project has expanded its reach across Georgia, with plans for further growth.

Leveraging research-driven instructional design, I developed seven comprehensive courses within the Risk Management module, each containing 3-5 lessons with interactive elements such as objectives, content, gamified learning, and feedback mechanisms.

Every lesson is carefully crafted based on extensive research, with insights from subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy and relevance.

Course 1: Human Trafficking

This learning module equips individuals with the knowledge to recognize, prevent, and respond to human trafficking risks. Learners will explore the different types of trafficking, identify key warning signs, and gain actionable strategies to protect themselves and others. Through interactive lessons, real-world scenarios, and expert insights, this course fosters awareness and empowers individuals to take informed steps toward safety and advocacy.

Course 2: Drugs & Alcohol

This learning module empowers individuals to make informed decisions about substance use by distinguishing between legal and illegal substances. Learners will explore the risks associated with both, gain insight into the effects of addiction, and understand the impact of excessive drinking. Through interactive lessons and real-world scenarios, this course fosters awareness and promotes responsible choices for long-term well-being.
